How does a defective core exchange work?
THIS ITEM REQUIRES THE RETURN OF YOUR DEFECTIVE PART.
OPTION #1: I can ship immediately. SHIPPING TODAY REQUIRES A $100.00 REFUNDABLE CORE DEPOSIT. An invoice for the CORE DEPOSIT will be emailed to you via Paypal (credit card accepted). A pre-paid shipping label for the return of the defective part will be included in the package.
OPTION #2: I send you a pre-paid shipping label for the return of the defective part. When the package tracking number for your defective part is registered on the USPS website, your replacement part will be shipped to you.
Part Numbering System
HP has many part numbers for the same part. They like to issue a new part number for a new lot being released for consumption. Here is a breakdown of popular part numbers. HP Designjet 510 model has three different part numbers: HP Designjet 510 CH336-60001 HP Designjet 510 CH336-67001 HP Designjet 510 CH336-80001 HP Designjet 500 C7772A
Please confirm that you have a HP Designjet 510 printer. The 500 GL/2 Card will not work in a HP Designjet 510 printer. I have had several customers with a HP Designjet 510 purchase the 500 GL/2 Card. The 500 GL/2 Card does not work in their printer. This will caused delays with exchanging the 500 card for the 510 card.

A 05:10 error on the front panel of the printer indicates a formatter card failure.

We had an issue with our GL/2 card for our Designjet 510. Card was still under warranty and Tom was able to get us the replacement quickly. We will definitely continue using him for our plotter needs in the future.

This was the easiest fix I have ever had. I ordered the formatter board from Tom, it arrived in a few days, in the package with the board, was a return prepaid priority envelope. I install the formatter board, it worked perfectly. I put my old formatter board in the envelope, and dropped it in mailbox. It all worked perfectly! I would work with Tom again.

Tom was a huge help. Our IT guy said that this machine was outdated and just to buy a new one which is around $4,500-$6,000.
